They say the Championship is the hardest league in the world to predict, and Hull City are certainly proving that case this season.
After narrowly escaping relegation to League One last term, the Tigers are on course for a play-off place in the second tier, at worst, for the first time in 10 years.
Currently residing in fifth on 54 points, City have slightly regressed away from the automatic promotion picture, but it has still been a remarkable first season in English football for Sergej Jakirovic and his chargers.
Hull now have 15 matches of the regular season remaining and, potentially, another three beyond then in the post-season lottery – all of which could bear huge implications on the club’s short and long-term future and trajectory.
As such, it is time to hand over to the ‘brains’ of ChatGPT to see how AI believes the Tigers will fare between now and next season.
February
City have already played twice this month in the league in HU3, only taking one point from six in two frustrating outings against Watford and Bristol City.
Jakirovic’s side now have their full focus on the league after losing 4-0 to Chelsea in the FA Cup, and it is, yet again, a double-header of home fixtures against Queens Park Rangers and Derby County first up, before rounding off the month against Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
As such, AI believes City will take seven points from the nine available, which, if replicated in real life, would hopefully create a strong buffer between themselves and the chasing pack by drawing 1-1 with the Hoops ahead of successive 2-1 victories over the Rams and Pompey.
March
City couldn’t have envisaged as much of a potentially defining start to March when their rearranged clash with Ipswich Town at Portman Road was rescheduled for the first Tuesday of the month, three days before a home clash with Millwall.
Jakirovic’s side are then back on the road to take on Wrexham and West Bromwich Albion – two sides who will be desperate for three points against the Tigers for extremely contrasting reasons, before closing out the month against Sheffield Wednesday, who are likely to have been relegated by the end of the current month, never mind ahead of the season’s final international break.
With 15 points to play for, AI claims that City will accrue eight, suffering their only defeat by a 2-1 scoreline against Ipswich, with victories coming against the Lions and the Owls.
With seven games remaining in April and May, the two aforementioned predictions mean Hull would have a tally of 69 points
April / May
After a two-week hiatus, City are braced for a return to action against Oxford United and Coventry City over the course of the Easter weekend, before a mouth-watering Yorkshire derby against current play-off outsiders, Sheffield United.
Clashes with Birmingham City, Leicester City and Charlton Athletic close out the month of April, with the latter two currently in the fight for survival, before the Tigers round off the regular season against Norwich City at the MKM Stadium.
With there being 21 points to play for in said timeframe, AI has claimed that the Tigers will only lose to the Sky Blues 2-0 on April 6th, whilst defeating the Blades, Blues, Addicks and Canaries.
Further draws against Oxford and Leicester mean that City would end the season third on 75 points, 13 points short of Middlesbrough in second place.

Play-Offs
As such, the computer has predicted an intriguing play-off semi-final against Wrexham for the Tigers, in what would definitely be a *’fairytale* scenario
*an invented or unlikely story* (Transfer embargo squad, definitely not a fresh squad made up of £30m+ investment)
However, according to ChatGPT, City would emerge as 3-2 victors on aggregate after a 2-1 home success in the second leg, whilst it has predicted Ipswich Town to be the club’s third Championship play-off opponents after Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday.
As unlikely as this may be in the eyes of many, including some City fans, given Ipswich’s strength-in-depth across multiple areas, a 2-1 win for Jakirovic’s side has been forecast, as well as further reasoning as to why AI believes there is method behind the Bosnian’s ‘madness’.

Of course, it is unlikely that each and every one of these results do occur. But, there would be no complaints from the Tiger Nation if they were to!
